Itinerary
Day 1 : CHANDIGARH

Arrive at Chandigarh airport / railway station, meet & greet by Aaradhana representative. Tour starts.
Chandigarh is a city and a union territory in India that serves as the capital of the two neighboring states of Punjab and Haryana. The city is unique as it is not a part of either of the two states but is governed directly by the Union Government, which administers all such territories in the country.

Chandigarh is bordered by the state of Punjab to the north, the west and the south, and by the state of Haryana to the east. It is considered to be a part of the Chandigarh capital region or Greater Chandigarh, which includes Chandigarh, and the city of Panchkula (in Haryana) and cities of Kharar, Kurali, Mohali, Zirakpur (in Punjab). It is located 260 km (162 miles) north of New Delhi and 229 km (143 miles) southeast of Amritsar.

After lunch depart for Chandigarh local sightseeing which will include : The Rock Garden is a massive open-air exhibition hall that displays sculptures made from urban and industrial wastes that have been designed and executed by Nek Chand, a former Road Inspector in Chandigarh. Also known as Nek Chand's Rock Garden, this massive 40-acre garden is a colourful mosaic of art pieces and sculptures. The Rock garden was built in the year 1957 by officer Nek Chand single-handedly in his spare time and has become a long-standing symbol of imagination and novelty in the city. Having a total of about 5,000 statues within its bounds, the Rock Garden in Chandigarh is a true example of 'Best From Waste.'

Nestled at the foot of Shivalik Hills, Sukhna Lake paints a pretty picture. Stretching for a distance of 3 sq. km., Sukhna Lake is a man-made lake and is the only one of its kind in the city created in the year 1958 by damming the seasonal Sukhna Choe (Stream) that flows down the Shivalik Hills. With its pristine blue water, the lake serves as a perfect location for a stream of morning joggers and walkers who can also enjoy the fresh air. In fact, the architect of Chandigarh - India's first planned city - Le Corbusier claimed that this lake would be the centre of wellness pursuits for the residents. The promenade in front of the lake is frequented by walkers and joggers who carry out their exercise regimes here. Moreover, it also has one of the longest rowing channels in the country that host the Asian Rowing Championships.

Apart from serving as a delight for artists and photographers, the lake is also a great spot for sports activities such as rowing, trampoline jumping along with the recent addition of a Solar Cruise. It is home to several species of fish and migratory birds such as Siberian ducks and cranes. Day 2 : CHANDIGARH – DHARAMSHALA

After breakfast depart for Dharamshala, Surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas. It was part of the British province of Punjab. The administrative headquarters of the district were initially at Kangra, but were moved to Dharamshala in 1855.

In the valleys of Kangra, burn the nine eternal flames of the Jwala Devi Mandir which attracts Hindu pilgrims from all over India. Also known as Jwala Ji, this mighty temple is situated 34 km south of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh and 56 km from Dharamshala. The temple is dedicated to Jwala Devi, a form of the Holy Goddess herself. This is a novel temple which does not have an idol. It is believed the Goddess resides in the holy flames of the temple which miraculously burn day and night without any fuel from outside.

The aarti conducted in this temple is the main attraction. Usually, an offering of Rabri is served to the Goddess. For thousands of years, Jwala Devi Temple has been an important Hindu pilgrimage and as long as the flames burn, devotees will continue to come here in the quest for peace and happiness. Day 3 : DHARAMSHALA SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast depart for Dharamshala local sightseeing which will includes : St. John Church in the Wilderness, built in 1852, is one of the most important churches in Himachal Pradesh. This neo-gothic church was built in dedication to John the Baptist. Set amidst lush deodar forests, this peaceful edifice is known for its Belgian stained-glass windows.

The eccentric church was built in dense woods which is why it is famous as 'St John in the Wilderness'. One of the oldest built structure of Dharamsala, this is also the final resting place of Lord Ergin, one of the governor generals and also viceroy of India during the British Raj. This St. John in the Wilderness Church should not be confused with the church of the same name located in Nainital, Uttarakhand.

Dal Lake in Dharamshala offers trekking expedition along with the peaceful afternoon to spend while watching different kinds of fish in the lake with an exquisite background and weather. The beautiful lake has got its name from Kashmir's Dal Lake and is surrounded by lush green Deodar forest at a height of 1,775 meters. There is also Shiv Mandir located around the banks of the lake which makes it a sacred spot.

Tibetan Museum : Regarded as the official museum of The Central Tibetan Administration Department of Information and International Relations, the Tibetan Museum aims to raise awareness about the occupation of Tibet, human rights abuses committed by China and how Tibet overcame all other struggles put before them. The interior of the museum is filled with various exhibitions, documentary screenings, talk series, photographs and workshops along a single line and it is always buzzing with people who visit them. A video is also shown which highlights the journey of Tibet into the Himalayas which is very interesting to watch. Due to the exhibitions and workshops conducted, the Tibet Museum teaches children a lot about the Tibetan culture and is thus, an ideal place for them to enhance their knowledge and have fun at the same time.

Cricket Stadium : Nestled in the lap of the majestic Himalayan mountain range lies the quaint little Dharamshala Cricket Stadium. Located at the height of 1,457 meters above sea level, it is one of the highest sports grounds in the world. Visiting a cricket stadium while in Dharamshala may sound like a strange thing to add to one’s itinerary, but the magnificent natural backdrop and the cool winds constantly drifting across the grounds is what makes a trip to HPCA Stadium (as it is also known) worth it. Indigo skies, an eternal stream of the fresh mountain breeze, and the vast expanse of lush green field offer a sensory experience like no other. With a view comparable to the Adelaide Oval or Newlands, this stadium competes with the best in terms of its magnificence. Basho Nag Temple In early 18th century the Gorkhas came here with British to settle, later they formed the historic the 1st Gorkha Rifles in 1815 (The Malaun Regiment). As per the Indian mythology, the snake god got into a battle with King Bhagsu. The reason of the battle was that King Bhagsu had stolen water from the sacred lake called the Nag Dal Lake. King Bhagsu was defeated and eventually forgiven, and the site was consecrated as Bhagsu Nag. And Dalai Lama Temple. Dinner & overnight in Dharamshala.

Day 4 : DHARAMSHALA DALAHOUSIE
After breakfast depart for Dalahousie. One of the most pristine hill stations in Himachal Pradesh, Dalhousie is named after Lord Dalhousie the British governor-General who established the town as a popular summer retreat. The town was established in 1854 by the British and is located at the western ranges of the Himalayas at an average elevation of 1,970 meters above sea level. The town is still exemplary of neatly planned streets and colonial era architecture of the buildings that are a marvel to witness amidst the lush green surroundings and snow capped peaks of the Himalayas. It boasts of old world charm, mesmerising natural landscape, pine-clad valleys, flower bedecked meadows, fast flowing rivers, magnificent misty mountains and some of the most spectacular views in the world. The air smells of the Scottish and Victorian architecture and the ambience reminds you of the pristine British flavours. Evening free at leisure. Dinner & overnight in Dalahousie.
Day 5 : DALAHOUSIE

After breakfast depart for Dalhousie sightseeing which will includes : Khajjiar : This beautiful tourist attraction is a small town situated in close vicinity of Dalhousie. It is also popularly known as Mini Switzerland of India. The place owns such beauty that it has been one of the greatest influencers and inspirations for a number of kingdoms, which includes the Mughals as well as the Rajputs. It is conveniently nestled at an elevation of 6500-feet above sea level and the picturesque landscapes that it boasts are bound to impress any tourist. The place also features the massive nine-hole-golf-course for which it is quite renowned as well. The golf course is a beauty sitting amidst lush greenery and mesmerizing views of the surroundings. Khajjiar features a small-sized lake, which is one of the favorite spots amongst tourists and locals. Even if you are an adventure seeker this place has bundles to offer. This mainstream finds its origination in the north side of Dain Kund, which is also a mesmerizing sight to behold. There is a samadhi of Sardar Ajit Singh (Bhagat Singh’s Uncle), a great revolutionary built close to the place as he took his last breath here. Subhash Baoli : This tourist attraction of Dalhousie has a close connect to ancient history. It has been given its name after Subhash Chandra Bose, a famous fighter who fought bravely back during the independence struggle. It is a perennial spring that is known to possess medicinal properties. It is so believed that the water of this particular spring was successful in curing the poor health of the freedom fighter. Apart from the spring, the place is known for its beauty and travelers to visit it to enjoy the mesmerizing views. Take in the stunning views of the snow dusted mountain and greenery. Day 6 : DALAHOUSIE - AMRITSAR

After breakfast depart for Home of the glorious Golden Temple, the iconic city Amritsar, portrays the heroic character of the Punjab. A day in this peaceful city starts with the spiritual prayers from Gurudwaras. The original name of first the ancient lake, then of the temple complex, and later the surrounding city, meaning "pool of ambrosial nectar."

Amritsar is the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh Religion. Baisakhi festival brings out Amritsar's resplendent face with its finest food, clothes and merry-making. Amritsar today is a thriving city with active trade and tourism industries. Day 7 : AMRITSAR

After breakfast depart for Amritsar local sightseeing which will includes : One of the most spiritual places in India, Golden Temple, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib, is the holiest shrines in Sikhism and is alive with religious fervour and sacredness. Its divinity is a thing that can only be experienced and not described. After going through a tumultuous period of demolitions, it was rebuilt by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1830 purely with marble and gold. It is the view of the resplendent shrine, glistening in the centre of the tank that brings an infinite calmness. It is located right in the heart of Amritsar and is easily reachable from any part of the city. Serving as a symbol of brotherhood and equality, Golden Temple is visited by people from all over the world who come here to seek spiritual solace and religious fulfilment. In spite of the thousands of people milling about in the premises of the temple, the only voice you will hear around you is silence interspersed with chants of the Sikh prayers.

Golden Temple is just a small part of the vast complex known as Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib to the Sikhs. The spiritual focus is the tank, the Amrit Sarovar, which surrounds the glistening central shrine. Amritsar takes its name from this Amrit Sarovar which was excavated in 1577 by the fourth Sikh guru, Guru Ram Das. Around the edge of the compound, there are more shrines and monuments. The Sikh Museum is located inside the main entrance clock tower which shows the oppression endured by the Sikhs at the hands of the Mughals, the British and the Indian Government of 1984. The Ramgarhia Bunga is a protective fortress located at the southeast end of the tank and is surrounded by two Islamic-style minarets. Golden Temple is indisputably one of the most exquisite attractions in the world.

Located near the famous Golden Temple of Amritsar, Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden that also houses a memorial to commemorate the massacre of peaceful celebrators by the British forces. Spread over 6.5 acres of land, Jallianwala Bagh is associated with one of the saddest days in Indian History when thousands of innocent people were killed on the orders of General Dyer as they gathered for a peaceful celebration of Baisakhi. There is a memorial tablet at the entrance which serves as a record of history. The tragic incident left a deep scar on the country, and a memorial was constructed post the independence for the innocents who lost their lives in this devastating incident. Established by the government of India in 1951, the massacre memorial was inaugurated by Dr Rajendra Prasad on 13th April 1961. The place has now been turned into a beautiful park and is managed by the Jallianwala Bagh National memorial trust. A number of structures are present inside the premises which resound of the atrocities that occurred here. These include a wall which still bears the marks of the bullets that were hurled blindly at the civilians and a well in which many people jumped to save themselves from the onslaught of the bullets. It is estimated that over a 1000 Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs lost their lives in this brutal assault. a narrow alley of immense historical importance passes through here. An air of eerie calm still lingers over the Jallianwala Bagh and gives one a feeling of indescribable sadness and peace.

Attari Border (Wagha Border) : Located at a distance of 22 km from Lahore and 28 km from Amritsar, Wagah Border marks the boundaries between Indian and Pakistani borders. It runs along the Grand Trunk Road between Amritsar in Punjab, India, and Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan. People from all over the country visit this place to witness the Beating Retreat Ceremony that is held every day before sunset. This ceremony includes the closing of the international gates and lowering the flags of both countries. It is a spectacle to be witnessed and is an occasion where the heart of every Indian is filled with pride and enthusiasm. The flag ceremony has been conducted by the Indian Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers since 1959.

Every evening, just before the sunset, the soldiers from the Indian and Pakistan military meet at this border post to engage in a 30-minute display of military camaraderie and showmanship. Officially, the purpose of the ceremony is to formally close the border for the night and lower the national flag. However, it is an entertainment ceremony and a display of national pride for the thousands of people who come here every day. During the build-up to the ceremony, the crowd engages in chanting the Indian national anthem, rounds of applause and Bollywood-style dancing on Hindi songs. Dinner & overnight at Amritsar.

Day 8 : AMRITSAR – DEPARTURE
After breakfast free time for shopping. Post lunch depart for Amritsar Airport / Railway Station for onward journey. Tour Ends.
