Itinerary
Day 1 : GWALIOR
Arrival at Gwalior Railway Station / Airport , the city of the Scindias. Meet & Greet by Aaradhana’s representative. Tour Starts. According to local tradition, Gwalior owes its name to a sage of former times. SurajSen, a prince of the Sikarwar Rajput clan of the eighth century, is said to have lost his way in the forest. On a secluded hill, he met an old man, the sage Gwalipa, whose influence almost took him by surprise. Upon asking the sage for some drinking water, he was led to a pond, where the waters not only quenched his thirst but cured him of leprosy. Out of gratitude, the prince wished to offer the sage something in return, and the sage asked him to build a wall on the hill to protect the other sages from wild animals which often disturbed their pujas. Suraj Sen later built a palace inside the fort, which was named "Gwalior" after the sage, and eventually the city that grew around the fort took the same name. Transfer to Hotel. Day 2 : GWALIOR
After Breakfast, we will take a full day city tour visiting famous sights such as Birla Mandir : A temple built by Birla group is dedicated to the Sun god. The temple not only derives its nomenclature from the legendary Sun Temple at Konark in Orissa, the architecture too is inspired by the same. Tansen Maqubara :Catacomb of the father of Hindustani classical music, Tansen, a singer much admired by Akbar and held to be a father of Indian classical music, a musical legend, was one of the navratnas meaning the nine jewels in the court of the erstwhile Mughal emperor Akbar. Guru Gaus Maqbara : Guru of emperor Akbar, Scindia Palace : Established by a private trust in 1964, is one of the most popular tourist attractions. It is known for its rich collection of manuscripts, miniature paintings, weapons, sculptures, coins, bronzes and other items. After lunch, one of its kind Gwalior Fort : constructed about 1,000 years ago on the advice of Sage Gwalipa by Raja Surya Sen. It is said that the Gwalior fort is the largest fort of its kind. The outer wall of the fort occupies stretches 3.2 kilometers in length and about 35 meters in height& experience the Light & Sound Show at the Gwalior Fort & Laxmibai Smarak : On June 18th 1858, Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, one of the most important figures of India's First War of Independence, died while fighting against the British in Gwalior. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 : GWALIOR - JHANSI - ORCHA – KHAJURAHO
After Breakfast, we will depart for Khajuraho. Enroute we will visit Jhansi, where we will see the famous Jhansi Fort : According to a legend the Raja of Orchha was sitting on the roof of his palace with his friend, the Raja of Jaitpur, and asked the latter whether he could discern this new fort that he had built on Bangara hill, and he replied that he could see it 'jhainsi' (meaning rather )indistinct. This name 'Jhainsi' in course of time became corrupted to 'Jhansi'. It was one of the most strategically situated forts of central India being built on an elevated rock rising out of the plain and commanding the city and the surrounding country. Orcha Fort : founded in the 15th century AD, by the Bundela chief, RudraPratap Singh, who became the first King of Orchha, Ram Mandir : built on a square base and has an almost entirely plain exterior, relieved by projecting windows and a line of delicate domes along the summit, built by Raja Bir Singh JuDeo who build Jhansi fort. Lunch Enroute. Evening arrival in Khajuraho. Dinner& overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4 : KHAJURAHO
After breakfast, visit the World Heritage Site of the Western Complex of the temples of Khajuraho : a group of Hindu and Jain temples &one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India. There we will visit Laxman Mandir, Kandaria Mahadeo Mandir and other temples in the complex. Here we will take a guided tour of about 2 to 3 hours. After Western complex we will proceed for the Eastern complex of temples of Khajuraho. After having lunch, in the evening see the Light & Sound show at the Western Complex of temples. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5 : KHAJURAHO – JABALPUR
Today after breakfast, depart for Jabalpur, the city that has given us many famous people like Rani Durgawati, Premnath, Arjun Rampal. Early evening arrival Jabalpur. Transfer to the hotel. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6 : JABALPUR – KANHA
After breakfast, depart for Bhedaghat, take a Boat ride at the famous Marble Rocks and enjoy Rope Way ride at Dhooandhar Waterfall : which looks like smoke coming out of the river and therefore it got its name as "Dhuan (smoke)-dhar (flow of water)".– (Sub to operations). After lunch depart for Kanha Wildlife Sanctuary – one of the Tiger reserves of India. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7 : KANHA
Today, early morning Jeep ride in the Kanha National Park : One of the biggest parks in Madhya Pradesh. In the 1930s, Kanha area was divided into two sanctuaries, Hallon and Banjar, of 250 and 300 km² .Kanha National Park was created on 1 June 1955. Today it stretches over an area of 940 km² in the two districts Mandala & Balaghat. Together with a surrounding buffer zone of 1,067 km² it is the largest National Park in Central India. We will experience the flora and fauna of the sanctuary and watch the wildlife. After lunch, those who wish to take optional Jeep ride, will leave for the jungle. Others will enjoy the pollution free, noise free and fresh atmosphere of the Tiger reserve. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Day 8 : KANHA – PACHMARHI
Today after breakfast we will depart for Pachmarhi : the only hill station of Madhya Pradesh. It is widely known as Satpuraki Rani, situated at a height of 1100 m in a valley of the Satpura Range. Dhupgarh, the highest point (1,350 m) in Madhya Pradesh and the Satpura range, is located here. Arrive at Pachmarhi, the famous hill station of Madhya Pradesh. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Day 9 : PACHMARHI
After breakfast full day Pachmarhi sightseeing which will include, Ambamai Mandir : Situated on Pachmarhi – Pipariya road. It is very near to Begam Palace, Boating in Zeel, Reechgarh : Due to the type of construction it gives an appearance of Fort to Reachgarh. It has 3 entrance gates. It is surrounded by the hills from all the three sides, Handi-Kho : It is 300 feet deep ravine in V-shape created by two gigantic hills. It is said that the British officer Handi has committed suicide by Jumping into the ravine & sun set from Rajendragiri : This hilltop was named as Panorama Girl in honor of the visit of Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Clearly visible from here are the hill of Satpura Range in their inviting gesture. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10 : PACHMARHI
After breakfast full day Pachmarhi sightseeing which will include, Vaniki Sangrahalaya : originally known as Bison Lodge, is the oldest house in the town of Pachmarhi that was constructed in 1862. This house serves as a museum, which is dedicated to Captain Forsyth, who is considered to be the founder of Pachmarhi. Mahadeo : This cave is about 60 feet Long. It is a mythological belief which says that Lord Vishnu incarnated as Mohini killed the demon King Bhasmasur here. Large idols of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh and Lord Ganesha have been enshrined inside the 60 feet long cave. Water constantly falls upon the shivlinga inside the cave. A kund is situated in the middle of the cave. Gupt Mahadeo : This cave is about 40 feet long. There is a narrow path which leads to Gupt Mahadeo. There is idol of lord Ganesha and Shivlinga enshrined inside the cave. Jatashankar : The place is named after the mythological belief that lord Shiva shaded his matted lock here. The place is formed inside a cave. It was a belief that when the Shiva wanted to hide himself due to fear of Bhasmasur, he rested at this place. There is about 108 Shivalinga formed naturally inside this cave. Pandavgumpha : ThePandav Caves is also has its mythological belief. The caves were supposed to be constructed around 6th to 7th century. According to the saints, the Pandavas are said to have spent their period of exile in these caves. It is said that Arjuna in the guise of an eunuch taught music to Nagpati and wedded the daughter of Nagraj Vasu, who lived in Nagdwari about 15 Km from Pachmarhi. Caves of Yudhishthira, Arjuna, Nakul, Sahdeo, Bhima and Draupadi are worth visiting. Bee Fall : Bee Fall, popularly known as Jamuna Prapat, is a beautiful waterfall that provides drinking water to Pachmarhi. It is one of the most scenic waterfalls of the town that flows into the valley & sun set from Dhoopgarh : Dhoopgarh is the highest point in Pachmarhi. Earlier it was called as Harvatsa Kot. It is 4429 feet above the mean sea level. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Day 11 : PACHMARHI – BHOPAL

After breakfast, depart for Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh. Enroute visit the World famous site, Bhimbetka : The site spread over 10 km in length and about 3 km in width has more than 700 rock shelters, of which over 400 have paintings. The earliest human activities are known from the numerous stone tools including hand axes, cleavers and also the pebble tools. They are the ones that are always mentioned whenever Indian rock art is alluded to. They were discovered and revealed to the world by V. S. Wakankar from 1957 onwards.

These Rock paintings, which dates back to thousands of years. Bhojpur Shivamandir : famous for the incomplete Bhojeśvar temple dedicated to Shiva. The temple houses one of the largest liṅga-s in India, 5.5 m (18 ft) tall and 2.3 m (7.5 ft) in circumference. It is crafted out a single rock. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 12 : BHOPAL – DEPARTURE
After breakfast, depart for the World Heritage site, of the Sanchi Stupa : is the oldest stone structure in India and was originally commissioned by the Emperor Ashoka the great, in the 3rd century BCE. Its nucleus was a simple hemispherical brick structure built over the relics of the Buddha. It was crowned by the chatra, a parasol-like structure symbolising high rank, which was intended to honour and shelter the relics. The construction work of this stupa was overseen by Ashoka's wife, Devi herself, who was the daughter of a merchant of Vidisha. Sanchi was also her birthplace as well as the venue of her and Ashoka's wedding. In the 1st century BCE, four elaborately carved torans (ornamental gateways) and a balustrade encircling the entire structure were added. Back to Bhopal for lunch.After lunch Drop at Bhopal Station. Tour Ends.
